School Age Services

The School Age Therapy Program provides occupational therapy and physiotherapy services to school age children through various contracts and to various schools and communities in the Bulkley Valley and Hazeltons.  Referrals are made by the Learner Support or Special Education personnel in the schools.

Occupational & physiotherapists provide assessment, consultation, and program recommendations to parents and teachers of students who have or are at risk for, a developmental delay or disability, that is impacting their function at school.  It is the goal of therapists to work with school personnel and parents to enable the student to achieve their maximum potential and independence in all areas of school life.  Therapists work with families, teachers, teaching assistants, and other health care professionals to provide a student-centered, team approach.
