Infant Development Program-Aboriginal Infant Development Program (IDP-AIDP)
If you are concerned about your child’s development and would like some assistance in learning how to encourage his or her progress the Infant Development/Aboriginal Infant Development Program is available . Infant Development Consultants provide information and support to families who 's children, birth to three years old, may be diagnosed with a delay in their development or who may be at risk for a delay or families who would like to consult with IDP staff about their infant 's development.
Infant Development Program Services/Aboriginal Infant Development Program services may include the following:
Visits to monitor progress and develop new activities
- Developmental screening and Assessments
- Referrals to community resources and or our Early Intervention Program; Speech Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy or to our Family Services Coordinator
- Infant Massage Instruction
- Education and information about parenting and infant development.
- Access to Toy Library and Resource Centre
- Playgroups
IDP Consultants actively participate in community work; present workshops, join committees and build partnerships with other service providers.
Parents can refer their child directly to the Infant Development Program. If you wish to make a referral, please complete our Referral Form
