Care Resource and Referral Program
- The Smithers and Area CCRR provides families and
child care providers with quality, accessible child care services, from
Topley to Gityanow as well as some outreach service to Stewart, Dease
Lake, Telegraph Creek and including Atlin.
Hours of Operation: Monday,
Wednesday, Thursday 9:00am - 3:00pm; Fridays we are closed
and extended hours are offered Tuesdays 12:00-8:00pm with every last
Saturday of the month open from 9:30am-12:30pm

Outreach Services:
Outreach
services are provided monthly to varying communities. Contact
our Outreach Educator for travel itinerary.
- Early
Intervention Program
- Speech, Physio and Occupational Therapy assessment and
consultation for children age birth to school entry age who may be
experiencing difficulties or delays in their development.
- Family
Services Coordinator
- Information and support in accessing community programs and
resources, parenting young children and coordinating services for
children with special needs.

- Complex Developmental Behavioral
Conditions
- Keyworker will support families through the referral,
assessment
and diagnotic process. Coordinate assessments within the
area.
Link families to appropriate community service providers and
healthcare professionals. Provide education and facilitate
development.
- Infant
Development Program
- A home-based program that provides information and support
for families whose child, age birth to three years, may be experiencing
delays in their development. A weekly Parents and Tots group is also
available for families involved with the IDP.
- School-Age
Therapy Services
- Assessment and consultation for school age children who may
be experiencing difficulties in their cognitive/fine motor development
and/or difficulties with physical development. Services for school age
children are available to all as well as home-schooled children on a
fee for service basis.
- The
BVCDC Community Video Conferencing Services
- This technology is available for use by the community for
education/training sessions and/or recruitment on a fee for service
basis.
- Toy Library
and Resource Centre
- Toys, books, games and equipment available for children
accessing CDC services/programs.
Books, videos and information for parents and caregivers. Initial
funding provided by Ronald McDonald's Children's Charities.
